MEET ELLIE POTTS

Background

Ellie took up coaching because she wants to break down stereotypes around being left handed and a woman in golf.

She started out caddying for her dad on the golf course at 10 years old, slowly starting to try out clubs of her own. She played for Shropshire county at junior level in 2014 and eventually became County Captain in 2020. Ellie then progressed to playing for the Ladies County First team before starting university and then turning professional in 2021 off a handicap of 3.2.

Philosophy

Ellie works to make golf a more affordable, welcoming and inclusive sport. As a young woman in golf she would like to welcome more of her peers into the game.

Coaching

Ellie’s coaching approach aims to improve players’ abilities through observation and video analysis. She strives to create a stress-free and friendly environment where players can set goals and improve at their own pace. She works to build a relationship with the players to build their confidence in golf and is adaptive to all ages and experience levels.
